Baptisms

The United Church of Canada recognizes two sacraments (a sacrament is a visible sign of God’s presence) baptism and communion. Most families recognize the birth of a child as a sacred moment in their lives and wish to acknowledge the gift before God, with family members, and the gathered faith community.

The service of baptism takes place in the context of worship as the congregation also makes vows to the parents. It is not necessary that you be a church member in order to have your child baptized and, if it is your family tradition to have god-parents, they are also invited to participate in the service. Our minister will meet with you prior to the service to go over the service and answer any further questions you might have.

If you wish to have your child baptized in our church please contact the church office and we will be happy to work with you to arrange the necessary details.
